片子是媒体年终盘点的水平，但有现实意义
太长了…
短片单元已经被种族，难民和LGBT题材挤满了
看的时候心情非常复杂，当第一艘装满几乎全是青壮年男子的皮筏艇被发现的时候，那场面简直太震撼了，我仔细在银幕上搜寻貌似找到一个戴头巾的妇女，后来几艘船渐渐有采访妇女儿童，但总之难民问题呢，是一个对于我来说想不明白的无解之题。在如此前后两难的困境中，拍这个阶段的难民片意义就没那么大了。
这几年的纪录短片总是围绕着这么几个话题：临终、难民、中东战争，好像没别的可讲了似的。类似的难民偷渡片不知道拍了多少个，每个都很努力想激起你的同情心，这套对欧洲圣母可能比较好使，但在我这个冷血局外人看来就是：哦美国人一面修着边境墙一面又来忽悠欧洲接收难民了。看着密密麻麻的人挤在一艘小船上，大部分还是身强力壮的青年，我很难有什么正面的想法，只是为欧洲未来担忧。倒不是说对这些人的困境坐视不理，在大街上看到流浪汉我们可以用很多方式帮助他，但没几个人会把他接到家里养着。
在平庸煽情配乐中，让救援队的船长饶舌那些生命啊、轮回啊、一家人啊的大道理，烦死了。虽然有点刻薄，但怎么不跟下去，看看橡皮艇难民到了兰佩杜萨之后的命运会如何，最后又还是展现一些新闻数据。其实船长Jon Castle这个人很有故事，绿色和平组织的老骨干，偏偏在这个纪录片拍完后去世。
神似《海上焰火》，非常适合时下政治语境。
虽然是难民题材，但是也给了一个第一线的角度去看难民问题。
奥斯卡纪录短片提名，出于人道利益还是人权利益？要怨怎么不说是淘宝的皮艇又便宜又好用....题外话，同样故事是上个月无政府组织“No More Deaths”在美墨边境沙漠放水被判违法
VIFF. Oscar Short Films. Documentary. 感觉无解，除了大陆漂移：）
It tried so hard to move you — the grandiose score and the producer’s repeated question (do you swim/you don’t know how to swim) really turned me off. It’s better off to be a fiction to have impact, like Sully. What a waste of such poignant stories.
