Grace Lee Boggs is an activist and philosopher in Detroit who has dedicated her life to the next American Revolution and the possibility of a better, more just future for all of humanity. At age 97, she has been building movements and developing strategies for social change for most of her life -- reminding us that revolution is not only possible and necessary, but a process that must always be in motion.

三星半，有意思的人和波澜壮阔的历史，导演也花了不少精力，可惜思想水平的局限使得它无法成为一流纪录片，遗憾。
一部关于陈玉平，但或多或少也是关于底特律的传记纪录片。谈了她的革命思想与行动的变化，从黑格尔，到马克思主义，再到黑人民权运动，以及对于民权运动的反思，最后在去工业化背景下进行底特律的草根实践。值得关注的当然是她作为华裔女性实际上很长时间只是在做黑人运动，对于亚裔和女性都不是特别在意。看一个革命者的思想转变还是很有价值的（虽然我另一方面觉得她其实一直是社民）

在我看来导演叙事的角度是想要在60s民权斗争童话里的炒作asian represensentation的普通asam liberal 彻底稀释了”american revolution”意义和实践性 浪费了让人深度了解grace lee boggs个人哲学的机会 在录音的旁白里还加了很多自己臆测的时事影像 就像导演在结尾问的问题一样loaded 但也许这代表了导演和本人谈话后的总结 那本片就是一个western left的典型代表 表面反cia同时向第三世界大喊cia talking points
