人过中年的牙科医生维洛妮卡（María Onetto 玛丽娅·奥内托 饰）事业有成，衣食无忧，过着轻松自在的中产阶级生活。某天，她在驱车返家途中撞到不明物体。汽车没有停下，而是径直开走。但在接下来的日子里，维洛妮卡不断遭受良心的谴责，她试图让别人和自己相信那天桌在汽车上的是一只狗。随着时间推移，维洛妮卡再也无法承受巨大的压力，将这段遭遇告诉了丈夫……

Here comes the incident that changes everything, as Vero is driving, she is distracted by her cell phone and looks down to get to it. By the time she does this, her car hits something but the camera stays in it as we see her car shaking and rattles. Although Vero seems indifferent about the situation, it is clear that it has a toll on it as she acts different from the Vero that we saw briefly at the beginning of the film. She acts clumsy and out of place, barely saying anything, and when she does, it doesn't always make sense or has a lot of substance. This solidifies towards the end of the movie when she is going to retrace her steps to remember her memory, but in the hospital and the Hotel she stayed in, there was no record proving that she was there. 马特尔作为第三世界电影品类的代表，冲突描写是她永恒的镜头对准。女人来自中产阶级甚至以上的白人家族，来到当地人的社群，很有可能撞死了一个当地的孩子。而后她开始焦虑，重新审视这段关系。在审视和焦虑的过程中，她的头经常会消失不见，这是刁钻的镜头有意为之。观众无法感知女人的面部表情，无法参知女人脑中所想。复杂的心理变化通过此种切入呈现了出来。最终她将一头金发染黑，是她降低自身，与事件和解的外化，代表她的释怀与融入，消失在片尾的社交场景中。

失忆的元素
马特尔的声音演绎，绝无仅有的近距离人声与单一环境音构成了贴近人物耳语的质感：人类的注意力是有限的，多愁善感时只能在嘈杂的环境中将有限的声道放大、并在记忆当中贴上标记成为时间的胶囊，是开车时的引擎声、是浇花时的鸟鸣声、是叙旧时的录像带、是酒店的风铃….
通过一场车祸事故的后续可以洞悉阿根廷中产阶级（殖民者后裔）的裙带关系，阶级贫富差距，是人是狗都一样，什么都没变，变的只是“发色”…
