本片讲述了欧文•布鲁门菲尔德的故事，他出生于德国的一个犹太人家庭，历经两次世界大战，辗转于荷兰、法国，最终逃离到美国成为一名商业摄影师，与《时尚》和《时尚芭莎》杂志有很深的合作。布鲁门菲尔德从20世纪30年代开始摄影创作，深受达达主义影响，以超现实主义的时尚摄影而闻名，他的摄影作品抽象、变形和出乎意料的构图给人造成强烈的视觉冲击力。
