Three years into their loving marriage, with two infant daughters at home in Los Angeles, Nicholas Arden and Ellen Wagstaff Arden are on a plane that goes down in the South Pacific. Although most passengers manage to survive the incident, Ellen presumably perishes when swept off her lifeboat, her body never recovered. Fast forward five years. Nicky, wanting to move on with his life, has Ellen declared legally dead. Part of that moving on includes getting remarried, this time to a young woman named Bianca Steele, who, for their honeymoon, he plans to take to the same Monterey resort where he and Ellen spent their honeymoon. On that very same day, Ellen is dropped off in Los Angeles by the Navy, who rescued her from the South Pacific island where she was stranded for the past five years. She asks the Navy not to publicize her rescue nor notify Nicky as she wants to do so herself. Upon arrival back home, a shocked Grace Arden (Nicky's mother) informs Ellen that Nicky just got remarried ...
看完梦露的纪录片专门找来看的，这部片在前一年是本来找梦露拍的，原来叫《濒临崩溃》。后来因为梦露精神状态太差了不久还去世了，最后只留下了30分钟残片。幸好doris把这部电影完成了，也没有遗憾。提了金球奖（提名已经很不错了，Doris一辈子都没拿过金球奖和奥斯卡，但是拿过格莱美。）
充满雌竞的，一个几十年前的旧好莱坞电影
2022年第98部 / 喜剧里的闹剧总是显得多余。上半段观感真好。Doris Day 从船上走下来的那一刻，我多希望那是 Marilyn Monroe。第11部英字。

相较于Pillow Talk一气呵成的剧作和大胆的视觉风格，戈登的这部片子显得逊色太多，只能算作一部刚好处在及格线上的喜剧片。詹姆斯·加纳像是照着洛克·赫德森的形象去找的，他的角色完成度本身并不差，只不过不及赫德森与多丽丝·黛的配合能来事儿。★★★
