代入逝者视角回溯其终生痴迷的地方，风格自然空灵诗意，但美与恐惧的罗列并不能替代对人和天地应有的思考，博物学者的热爱和惋惜在非洲殖民背景之下不该如此单薄肤浅。一段跟随灵魂的旅程，只可惜形尚在，神却已散。
这种故弄玄虚的，统统扔入非洲旅游宣传片的行列....

黑蒙波荷曼為最靠近自然原始的國度編列文明百科全書，內心極為矛盾拉扯，停留在N之前不僅是遺憾同時可能也是對自然敬意止步。電影沒有著墨太多波荷曼個人，甚至對象牙海岸這個國家也僅是輕輕點擊，像一個西方都市人對原始純美的讚嘆而已，不過這樣就好。
