伊拉克战争时期，来自美国德州的19岁技术兵比利·林恩（乔·阿尔文 Joe Alwyn 饰）因为一段偶然拍摄的视频而家喻户晓。那是一次规模不大却激烈非常的遭遇战，战斗中林恩所在的B班班长（范·迪塞尔 Vin Diesel 饰）遭到当地武装分子的伏击和劫持，而林恩为了营救班长不惜铤而走险冲锋陷阵。视频公布于世让他成为全美民众所崇拜的英雄，然而却鲜有人理解他和战友们所经历的一切。为了安葬班长，B班得到了短暂的休假，因此他们得以受邀参加一场在德州举行的橄榄球比赛。林恩的姐姐因某事件深感愧疚，她希望弟弟能借此机缘回归普通生活。而周围的经纪人、球迷、大老板、普通民众则对战争、卫国、士兵有着各种各样想当然的理解。球场上的庆典盛大开幕，林恩和战友们的心却愈加沉重与焦躁……

The film is told from the point of view of 19-year-old private Billy Lynn (newcomer Joe Alwyn) who, along with his fellow soldiers in Bravo Squad, becomes a hero after a harrowing Iraq battle and is brought home temporarily for a victory tour. Through flashbacks, culminating at the spectacular halftime show of the Thanksgiving Day football game, the film reveals what really happened to the squad - contrasting the realities of the war with America's perceptions. The film also stars Kristen Stewart, Chris Tucker, Garrett Hedlund, with Vin Diesel, and Steve Martin. Lee used new technology, shooting at an ultra-high frame rate for the first time in film history, to create an immersive digital experience helping him dramatize war in a way never seen before. Lee directed and produced the film, from a screenplay by Jean-Christophe Castelli and based on the novel by Ben Fountain. Marc Platt, Rhodri Thomas, and Stephen Cornwell are also producers.

凯旋而归的Bravo班，官方的英雄，而人们却不以为然，这场不必要的战争对美国的一些民众来说是错误的。比利与女友的结识，与姐姐的交谈，与战友的欢聚。姐姐希望挽留弟弟比利，然而比利却依旧选择回到他们“安全”的地方。整个剧情表达了反战的思绪却又寄托了士兵希望受到尊重的愿望。这很矛盾却又很合理。
和男主一样的年纪，他在外国打仗，我在外地流浪，渴望遇到个中国甜心，但也怕她喜欢的只是我表面这样。

看完之后心情有些沉重，战争，对于生活在保护区的人们，确实相当于一个电影一样的虚幻存在，而真正经历过战争的人们，还需要能够成为英雄才能被火热追捧一刹那，不一会人们就接着转头关心其他事了，回到战场吧，回我们的家
切入角度不错，“中场战事”对于billy来说是对自己军人身份的confirm 但其实看的我有点乏味 没有被说服

战场上的幽灵回到人间的一场梦，个人比较喜欢这种叙事风格
有一种英雄主义，生于挫败和卑微。
李安永远能带来舒适的观影体验，虽然有点闷。
